A Little About Me
There's nothing I love more than a good dystopia book while sitting by the campfire. Or studying the bible with my fellow followers and hubby. I am one of 10 siblings so I know my way around a large group. I am a big foodie who is always open to try something new (within reason). I am a proud bunny mom and will talk about my two precious hoppers any chance I get. And recently I have entered into my wife era... but more than anything my favorite place to be is behind the camera, and bringing my couples closer to Jesus through my work!
Why Photography?
Not long after I was adopted my parents had bought me my first camera, a point and shoot! They wanted to be sure to capture all of the moments they lost in the first 10 years they didn't have with me. As I got older I realized how much it meant to me to have all these little snippets of my childhood since my adoption. However I also felt a sense of sadness and disappointment that I didn't have any portraits from when I was younger. I'm not sure what is was but I always had a gravitational pull towards portraits and taking photos. I would always have a huge 4x6 photo wall just scotch tapped to my bedroom wall each year, photos consisting of friends, family, birthdays, pets. You name it I had a picture of it on my wall! It wasn't until about 2 years ago that ditched the scotch tape and I graduated to frames! Around high school, I bought my first DSLR camera and decided to dabble in photography. Unfortunately I didn't take it serious at the time and did not stick to it for long.
Eventually, after putting my camera away for a few years, with my husbands encouragement I decided to give photography another go. With the support of so many clients I now consider family, my work blossomed into the beautiful portraits you see today! As my business started to kick off I was constantly faced with the question "why photography". And each time I find myself thinking back to a day where I was looking at my husbands baby photos and realized I had no photos of me as a baby that we can show our future family tree. And that was my reason. I strive to capture your memories for your future generations to look back on and preserve your legacy for years down the line. To help my clients cherish each little milestone in a tangible form, so that they never have to struggle to remember the giggles. the tears, the hand holds. the joy, the first kisses. That's why I truly believe that every couple, Family, Friend, and student deserves timeless images that reflect their unique story, and I am dedicated to making that a reality. This is Daniel, my hubby, supporter, and best friend!
Dan and I met 8 years ago! We both worked at a local grocery store, I was a cashier and he worked in the dairy department. Dan and I both had mutual friends but we never really met each other or talked to each other. One day Dan ended up sitting in the breakroom with me, and after about 20 minutes of talking his ear off, I had mentioned that I had a social platform with the intentions on not giving it to him. Crazy I KNOW!! BUT, I knew that if Dan was actually interested then he would ask for my handle. LO AND BEHOLD, two or three days later I had a message request from him asking for my handle and we hit it off from there. Then 8 years later, here we are married! It truly is a blessing having such a supportive and patient husband in Dan. Often he sacrifices date nights, weekends, and time with each other so that I can pursue my dreams as a photographer and he does it without complaint! Sometimes Dan will hop on client calls with me or go to my meetings with my couples, so you may be lucky and get a chance to meet the man himself!!!! If it weren't for Dans constant encouragement and support, I truly don't know how any of this would be possible. He truly is the best!
If I knew then what I know now I would have picked up my camera more often and took the time to learn about it so I could capture so much of my childhood that I no longer have to look back on.
That is why now my goal as your photographer is for you to never regret a moment uncaptured. Together we will forever keep your precious moments available, all by the "click of a button."
