Let’s be real: Your wedding day is going to be one of the busiest and most exciting days of your life, and the last thing you want is to feel stressed out about how you look in photos or awkward in front of the camera. That’s where your free engagement session comes in!

I always include a complimentary engagement shoot as part of my wedding packages because it’s the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other better and make sure you’re totally comfortable when it’s time for the big day. Think of it as a "test run" for your wedding photos, but with way less pressure and a lot more fun!

Here’s why this session is more important than you might think:

1. Get Comfortable in Front of the Camera (No Awkwardness Allowed!)

I totally get it.... not everyone loves being in front of the camera, and that's BEYOND okay! The engagement session is your chance to practice and get comfortable with me directing you. I’ll guide you through poses, give you little prompts, and most importantly, make sure you’re having fun with it. By the time your wedding day rolls around, you’ll already know how to relax and look natural in front of the lens, and there won’t be any of that awkward “What do I do with my hands?” moment.

The more you practice, the more confident you’ll feel (and look) in your photos, and that’s exactly what I want for you on your wedding day!

2. Let’s Get to Know Each Other!

The engagement shoot isn’t just about getting great photos (though that’s a pretty big perk). It’s also about building a relationship so you’re not working with a total stranger on one of the most important days of your life. I want you to feel comfortable around me, and more importantly, I want you to feel like you’re having fun. Think of the engagement session as a casual hangout where I get to see your personalities shine, and you get to see how I work.

By the time your wedding day arrives, we’ll already be on the same page, and you won’t have to worry about feeling like you’re being followed around by a photographer you don’t know. Instead, you’ll have a trusted friend behind the camera, helping you capture all those incredible moments!

3. Perfect Your Poses (and Have Fun While Doing It)

Worried about how you’ll look in photos or about not knowing what to do with your body? The engagement session is your chance to try out different poses and see what feels the most natural for you. I’m here to make sure you both look amazing, and if something doesn’t feel right or doesn’t look quite the way you imagined, we’ll adjust it together.

Plus, we can have a little fun with it! I love to incorporate personal touches and special moments that truly represent who you are as a couple. Want to do something quirky or unique? Let’s make it happen! The goal is to make sure you look and feel like yourselves, and have a great time while doing it.

4. Smooth Sailing on the Big Day

Your wedding day is going to be full of excitement, emotions, and (let’s be honest) a little bit of chaos. The last thing you want is to add more stress by feeling awkward or uncomfortable in front of the camera. When we’ve already spent time together during the engagement session, you’ll be familiar with how I work, and you’ll know what to expect from the photo sessions on your wedding day.

We’ll be able to move through the photos smoothly and naturally, and you won’t have to worry about “getting it right” or feeling stressed. Instead, you can focus on what matters, celebrating your love and enjoying the moment!

5. A Memory to Cherish (Beyond the Wedding Day!)

The engagement session is also a chance to create memories that are just for the two of you. While wedding photos are amazing, engagement photos have a unique charm and feel. They capture the excitement and love leading up to your big day. Whether you use the photos for save-the-dates, a fun guest book, or just hang them in your home, you’ll have a set of images that reflect your journey together long before you say "I do."

In Conclusion: It’s All About Making the Big Day Even Better

In the end, your free engagement session isn’t just a way to get some pretty pictures (though that’s definitely part of it!). It’s about making sure you feel confident, relaxed, and ready to enjoy your wedding day to the fullest. It’s an opportunity for us to build a connection, perfect those poses, and make sure that when your wedding day comes, you’re not worried about the photos at all.

So, if you’ve been thinking about whether or not to take advantage of the engagement session....I’m here to tell you: it’s absolutely worth it. Not only will it help you feel more comfortable, but it’ll also give us a chance to make sure we capture all those special, beautiful moments without any of the stress.

Let’s make some memories, have a little fun, and make your wedding day photography totally stress-free!
